On A Boat

Where would you rather be on a Friday, going to work or on a boat?

For me, with summer winding down here in Chicago, and my listening to a lot of Kenny Chesney lately, I keep thinking about our trip to Italy earlier this year, and even though the weather was crappy, it was still great being on a boat.

I don’t see many other boat opportunities happening this year, but wow, that is really where I’d rather be than going to work.

Relax and Let the Train Go By

Every now and then, on my way to work, I get stopped by a train. I’m always worried it’s going to be a long train, but a lot of times it’s short and doesn’t give me enough time to sing a song about the train.

This results in my needing to add a secondary song about getting stopped on my way to work, as is the case of this song.

Next time you are in a hurry and a train gets in the way, relax, enjoy the rhythm, the fancy artwork, and then be back on your way.

Wednesday is a Crappy Day for a Holiday

I believe I might run for President in 2020. My platform: We shall now celebrate Independence Day on the first Monday of July.

Why? I decree that Wednesday sucks for a holiday. Monday and Tuesday feel like you are heading to a weekend, you get a day off that you can’t really enjoy, and then you are back at work not knowing what day of the week it is.

Sure, I know it’s technically the “4th of July,” but let’s just change the name to Independence Day. And why Monday and not Friday? It’s mental, at least for me. Having Friday off is nice, you have that “We have a long weekend!” feeling, but there is nothing better than waking up on Monday morning, after a weekend, and saying “Yay! I don’t have to go to work today!”

Better yet, let’s make Independence Day a Tuesday. It can be like Thanksgiving, giving us a four day weekend, but different!

So, vote for me for President in 2020, and Independence Day will never be a crappy day for a holiday again!

Crappy, Thankful, Better – A Musical Trilogy of Song

I had the flu. Okay, I didn’t really have the flu as folks who have had the flu will tell you that you were just sick, but in any case, I was feeling like crap on Monday.

I was fighting something, and on that day the sick was winning. I decided not to post the song that day.

On Tuesday I still didn’t feel that great, but thanks to the love of my wife and some soup, I felt I was starting to take charge, but I still didn’t have the energy to get that day’s song up on the web.

Then came today. I felt better! A lot better!

This song will take you through the three days: My first day of crappy, my second day of being thankful I have a good woman who takes care of me, and the third day of triumph over sick.

Sorry for the delay in getting my song posted, but hey, consider it a bonus to get three songs in one!

It’s crappy to feel crappy during the summer. Thankfully my crappiness didn’t last too long.
