It took a while for my wife and me to fall in love.
Thinking about the time we weren’t together it makes me realize how special every celebration can be. Every candle is special on a birthday cake, and we missed many of them by not being together. Now the candles remind me how lucky I am to have found her, and how great every year has been with her in my life.

It was one of those Friday mornings when things just seemed great. The sun was shining, warmth was in the air, I saw a bunny outside our front door. It just made me feel good, and I hope you have a great Friday and greater weekend!
I still remember the “date,” a reunion of sorts after not seeing each other for over 20 years, meeting on a bench in Millennium Park in Chicago. Turns out my starting the conversation with “I’m not looking for any relationships. I still like all of my stuff.” was completely wrong. I liked her, and her stuff, much better.
I’m also beginning to embrace the fact that my forties are over, and on this, the last day of my forties, I’m celebrating everything that will be the last thing of my forties. This morning there was my shower, my breakfast, and my last trip to Kuppie’s Bakery in Villa Park, IL, for donuts. At least the last trip while in my forties.
