My Car Was Dewy This Morning

Is your car parked in a garage at night?

This is not my car.Normally my car is parked in our garage, which is nice. Most of our neighbors use their garages as self-storage, relegating their cars to the elements through all four seasons. Not us. Our vehicles are safe from the elements so there is no clearing of snow, no dewy vehicles, but not this morning for me.

Nope, we have a pile of crap in our driveway right in front of my side. It’s necessary crap for about a week, but it necessitates my keeping my car outside. This morning my car was dewy. I sing!

What a Wonderful World We Live In

I was thinking the other day how much the iPhone has changed things. Just ten years ago you couldn’t easily do things like see a map in the palm of your hand, figure out what time sunset was, or even find out what a cuterebra is. Go ahead. Look it up. The song can wait.

Now that you are grossed out, just think that a decade ago it was a pain to do these things. You needed those giant dictionaries, or a set of encyclopaedia, or an atlas. Not today. Grab your phone, take a pictures of a sunset, and find the person you love. I did.

It is a wonderful world we live in.

Big Splotch of Bird Poop

Oh, crap!

A big splatter of bird poop.Yup, there it was, maybe the biggest splatter of bird poop I have ever seen, and it happened to be on my windshield. The problem? It occurred early in the day so by the time I got to my car it was baked and seemingly glued to the windshield as well.

I have a feeling it will be there a while as I have a full tank of gas and won’t be at the gas station for days. At least the poop isn’t directly in my view!

I Would Like Another Kong

I’m trying something different for this song – an intro explanation. Let me know in the comments if you like it!

For today Milo got another Kong full of treats, and let me go to work.

The Day With the Most Sunlight

It’s the first day of Astronomical Summer, as opposed to the first day of Meteorological Summer, which is June 1st.

I know this because Weatherman extraordinaire, Tom Skilling, likes to explain the difference between astronomical and meteorological with every season change.

I also know that all this day really signifies is that from now until Astronomical Winter the amount of sunlight we receive is getting shorter. Crap.

Avocado Pancakes

It can be fun to say “Avocado,” and it can be fun to say “Pancakes.”

What’s more fun is to put them together in a song!

It's an avocado!I’ll be honest that I don’t know if eating avocado pancakes is any fun, but there does seem to be a plethora of recipes out there in the good old internet land, so maybe one of these days I’ll give them a shot! Actually I’ll probably wait and see if my wife will make them because, as we all know, I make breakfast that is boring.

Until I actually try them, the best I’ve got is a song about avocado pancakes! Enjoy!

We Missed Many Candles

It took a while for my wife and me to fall in love.

My wife and me having fun!Thinking about the time we weren’t together it makes me realize how special every celebration can be. Every candle is special on a birthday cake, and we missed many of them by not being together. Now the candles remind me how lucky I am to have found her, and how great every year has been with her in my life.

She Met Him There, In the Park

Yesterday was the 9th anniversary of the first “date” between my wife and I. Sadly she had to remind me.

Millennium Park park bench.I still remember the “date,” a reunion of sorts after not seeing each other for over 20 years, meeting on a bench in Millennium Park in Chicago. Turns out my starting the conversation with “I’m not looking for any relationships. I still like all of my stuff.” was completely wrong. I liked her, and her stuff, much better.

Just Walking Milo in the Park

On this, the first day in my fifties, I decided that Milo needed some exercise, and I would tag along.

I dragged him kicking and barking to the big park, and we walked two miles on a fairly nice Spring day. You can see during the song just how much dragging and barking was involved.

The Most Wonderful Month of the Year is Here!

What’s your most wonderful month? For me it’s May, at least I think so today.

I will admit, this song is kind of lame, especially for celebrating the most wonderful month of the year. It is May, however, the most wonderful month as it’s the month I was born, the month my wife was born, and the month my wife and I reconnected after not seeing each other for over 20 years. Sure, there are tons of other reasons May is wonderful, but the song can only be so long.

If you want to find out what month I think is wonderful next time be sure and subscribe to my YouTube channel or “Like” “Songs By Andy” on Facebook!
