Misty Rain on a Friday

I should start a new playlist of songs called “Lost It.” It would be the group of songs when, after finishing, I feel like I’ve completely lost my mind and gone bonkers. This song is one of those songs.

Basically inspired by the fact that it was Friday, and the day started out rainy, I knew from the weather forecast that the day would get nicer. So, I tried to remind everyone that just because a Friday starts out crappy, and all you want to do is nappy, it might be a nice day, and you’ll get out and play!

Have a great weekend!

$4.00 Coronas

I get inspiration for these songs from everywhere. Today I was having trouble thinking of something to sing for my wife this morning when, on the sign for a bar I drive bar, it advertised $4.00 Corona bottles.

In my head I wondered if that was a huge draw. I mean, is there someone who drove by and said “Gee, they have $4.00 Corona bottles. I must go there!”? So, I turned the thought into a story about a bar that was about to close until they had $4.00 Corona Friday nights.

There’s a Bird on a Wire

Yup, I parked, and there on the wire was a bird.

Bird. On a Wire.I kind of wondered what he, or maybe she, was thinking, so I sang. It’s what I do.

If you would like more songs about birds, I’m sure I’ll sing about one again, so subscribe to my YouTube channel or “Like” “Songs By Andy” on Facebook!

How to Say “Gnocchi?”

At Father’s Day dinner, as we were having gnocchi as part of the meal, there was much discussion of how exactly to say “gnocchi.”

If you don’t know what gnocchi is, or rather “are” I suppose as I’m unsure of it being singular or plural, it’s an Italian dumpling. Oddly enough, in a room full of folks of Italian descent, there didn’t seem to be a consensus as even the Internet was consulted as to the proper pronunciation. This, of course, differed slightly from that of our eldest participant.

Me, being of Polish descent, I have no chance of really knowing how to say “gnocchi,” all I do know is that it’s yummy in my belly.

There still may not be a decision on how to pronounce “gnocchi,” but you can hear all kind of mis-pronunciations if you subscribe to my YouTube channel or “Like” “Songs By Andy” on Facebook!

I Got a Low Tire

Why does it always seem my low tire pressure light comes on while I’m on the way to work?

It did it again, this morning, and since it wasn’t five degrees outside I worried a little more, attributing it to more likely a leak and not being a little low because of the cold weather.

It left me with this song, and I did take it to a place to get it checked, but the dude just filled it up with air, said he didn’t think it had a leak, and sent me on my merry way.

I’m guessing that light will be coming back on in a few days.

Now He Backs In

If you are someone who regularly backs into your parking spot, I would love to know why. Leave your comments!

I ask because I’m always wondering why people in larger vehicles tend to back into a parking spot. I suppose it might be easier to pull out of the spot going forward, but these days, with rear cameras and backup sensors, I’m guessing it can be fairly easy to back out of a spot, no matter the vehicle size.

Backing into a spot. The odd thing for me, that inspired this song, was that at the parking lot for work, there is a guy who used to park forward but now backs into his spot, with the same vehicle he had before. Weird.

Twenty in a Thirty-Five

I’ve got place to go, people to see, things to do! Get out of my way!

Yup, on the road this morning and I’m stuck behind Mr. Slowpoke. I’m guessing they were lost in a daydream because they didn’t have the texting head-bob going, or maybe their coffee just didn’t kick in yet. All I do know is that I was annoyed, when usually I’m the annoying one!

Something a Man Has Never Done

I did the impossible, and I want credit for it.

Without my wife asking, without a subtle nudge, and without her having to do it for me, I threw away a pair of socks. I kind of felt bad for them as one of the socks was perfectly fine, but the other had some issues. Holy sock!I thanked it for covering my feet nicely all of these years, then threw them both in the garbage so they could be together, forever, like socks are meant to be, and decided to commemorate the event in song.

I Make Breakfast That Is Boring

“What the heck was that?!”

That was the reply my wife gave me to the song this morning. With the exclamation point I wasn’t sure if that was a bad or good thing, but I do know that for the most part I make a boring breakfast. I guess I’m weird that I can eat the same thing, day after day, for weeks. She, on the other hand, likes to mix things up a bit. It’s not that I don’t like to mix things up, and I love when she makes breakfast (obviously if you watch the song), because hers are so much more creative, but I just don’t like to think about it.

I Wear Clip-On Glasses

I used to wear contacts and might do so again someday, but, for now, I’m with my glasses, and I don’t have a dedicated set of sunglasses.

My clip-on sunglasses. As such I have clip-on sunglasses. Yes, I have dorky, clip-on sunglasses. Actually, they don’t look that horrible, and I can’t flip them up like the ones my mom used to wear, but yes, they are clip-on, so go ahead and call me a dork.
